  Biography / Discography

After forming early in 2000, consisting of vocalist Greg Williams, guitarists Todd Sanft and Jeff Wang, bassist Craig Rudder, and drummer Scott Miller, set out to create a brand of music they could call their own. By orchestrating styles of music and writing including hardcore, funk, and alternative, Quartered created a sound with heavy grooves, catchy melodies, and solid balls-out, brutally hardcore riffs. The bands live show is an all-out intense performance that often leaves their bodies feeling the night for the next several days; but as the band repeatedly says, they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Quartered played extensively throughout the Lower Mainland for several years at some of the bigger venues including the Croatian Cultural Center, Richard’s on Richards, and one of their favorites, The Buffalo Club. After the on stage experience and a ever building fan base, it was off to the studio where they recorded the first of 2 albums of new material as well as a few of the oldies, the band came together stronger than ever before and began discovering and incorporating new sounds and new techniques that began to take their music, as well as their writing, to a different level.

In mid-2006, by teaming up with Garage Entertainment, the band was able to begin playing larger venues more frequently and expanded their fan base exponentially. With the release of the Rock Band Network in late 2009, Quartered landed their track “Africa” from the 2007 release “The Falls of Autumn” available for download to the Xbox360 and it was quickly dubbed to be the “Drummers Delight.” Fans began posting videos for the hardcore drumming of Scott Miller, trying to perfect their game. With their CDs entitled “The Falls of Autumn”(2007) and “Straight out the Sandbox”(2008) under their belt, and a third, being a label debut for Thorny Bleeder Records (Vancouver, B.C.)

Quartered embarked on a self promoted and self funded overseas trip to Manila, Philippines, where they performed at the 2010 Pulp Summer Slam with metal giants Lamb of God and Testament as the headliners. The stadium show attracted over 30,000 people and Quartered had the chance to put their mark on the audience in Manila. Along with this show came sets at Dayo Bar, The Hard Rock Café Manila, and a set in the SM Mall – Rossario, as well as a spot at Sazi’s and a headlining spot at Club Dredd. Quartered wowed the audience with their fresh new sound from the far away land of Canada, which landed them 3 television interviews from the biggest names in Asia.

After coming home Quartered’s new full length release “Walks Like a Ghost”, produced by Ben Kaplan, is slated for release August 2010 and a cross country tour for July 2010 to support the upcoming CD from Thorny Bleeder Records, Quartered has embarked on their fateful journey to become the new face of Canadian metal and will not be going down anytime soon
